Sauce, I'm gonna be straight with you, this fanfic is my current hyperfixation and I have not STOPPED with the headcanons and I need to get at least one confirmed

I feel like Tango has a natural talent for culinary arts, and won't admit to it at all because in his eyes it's "just southern cooking and seasonings, what more do you want from me-" BUT STILL GATEKEEPS RECIPES LIKE A VAULT TO EVERYONE ELSE

Like okay okay, sorry I'm rambling and this is spiraling, but I picture Tango one day walking into TIES lab with some extra rolls he had made one night (We know he has no time with being grad student but FOR THE SAKE OF IT-), and the rest of the TIES members all eat one and (mainly Skizz) spend the rest of the day that they're all in there trying to get the recipe out of him.

But Jimmy on the other hand, I feel like this man would burn a TV Dinner somehow. Growing up, I feel like Grian had tried teaching him countless times how to cook but just gave up after the 5th when Jimmy accidentally mistook a teaspoon of salt for a tablespoon (American metrics, don't come at me)

I gotta point you to the brisket headcannon. because its so funny. YES Tango cooks like his mama does (damn good) and everyone is foaming at the mouth when he cooks. MOE skizz grew up with a Venezuelan Abuelita and so he cooks really good too, its almost like a battle of the cooking when Tango and Skizz get together in the kitchen.

The both do not share recipes. Skizz goes "tell me whats in this?" and Tango goes "no <3" but when Skizz cooks, Tango goes "I could recreate this" and then he does. They are TexMex duo when it comes to food.

Jimmy can cook! He grew up in a house of idiots who hardly know how to feel themselves much less a teenager. It's all pretty basic food but he does cook. When Scar came into their life eating got better (thank you Scar for knowing how to cook and teaching Jimmy how to do it right.)

I think that if Tango is gonna go hard on a recipe like honey rolls (my recipe takes about 18 hours start to finish) he would do it while he's thinking through a hard project. He would go knead dough and think about his code, and hopefully he wont solve the problem while his hands are sticky and he can't touch a keyboard. While working on his thesis though, he doesn't allow himself time to much of anything.

You can always send MOE headcannons and I'll comfrim, deny, or steal them!! Many of the ones i've been sent have made it into cannon, so you might see yours come up in new chapters!

🐇 While he definitely wouldn't say it out loud, Ayato is incredibly concerned about you almost every hour of the day, though when he has important matters to attend to that worry is pushed to the background but is certainly still there. He's worried that you'll end up getting caught and killed or, worse, taken and experimented on by the CCG, so he's the slightest bit thankful that you stay inside more often than not. Ayato does make sure to drop by your place often to see if you're still there, and if you go out, he makes you tell him what you're leaving for and the exact time you left through the front door; he's not fucking around when it comes to your safety.

🐇  Usually, Ayato hunts for the both of you; he wants you to be able to go and get food on your own eventually, but until he's able to help you keep your emotions in check a bit better, he won't allow it. He may or may not enjoy being relied on by his cute boyfriend, but you didn't hear that from me. When he brings home a meal, he'll snack on it on the way to your place, but don't worry, he always makes sure to leave your favorite parts alone; Ayato just adores when you give him that happy grin while your cheeks are stuffed with the flesh of his latest game.

🐇  Often if you begin to have a panic attack or have strong emotions and your kagune begins to show itself, Ayato will 'reluctantly' grab onto your hand and give it a comforting squeeze. Although that squeeze tends to be a bit too tight most of the time and leaves you with an aching hand afterward, don't tell him that; he'll beat himself up for accidentally hurting you and won't touch you again for quite a while after that. If you're both at home, Ayato will drag you into bed and pull you against his chest, his hand rubbing your lower back under your emerged kagune to coax you into slumber.

🐇 When you both go out, be it for house essentials, food, or new clothes to replace the ones permanently stained with blood, Ayato always stands behind you and watches for potential threats or things that may stress you out. Suppose he sees that something is beginning to upset you, he'll grab you by the arm and physically turn you away from it, distracting you with an interesting object that's being displayed in a shop window or quietly telling you a piece of information about himself that you didn't know. Ayato is a pretty closed-off person even to those he's closest to, so he uses these hidden nuggets of information to his advantage whenever he's taking care of you.

🐇  Ayato is a very busy person, so he can't be with you as often as he'd like to be; to solve this problem, he's taken to leaving you little gifts around your place. A cute rabbit phone charm that he asked Uta to help him paint to look like his old mask, a few of his hoodies, random stuffed animals that he found on the side of the road, a couple of severed fingers for you to snack on in a take-out box, anything he thinks will make you feel better, to be honest. One time, Ayato even went out and bought you one of those cute squeaky stress balls whose eyes pop out when you squeeze them; it was a rabbit, of course.

Finishing up Hana Hyperfixates' (no relation) video on Ford, and I gotta say, I agree with everything! No qualms here!

...except that he isn't arrogant.

Dont get me wrong, I think they’re right that he's DEEPLY insecure, and that's why he was easy to manipulate. He needed someone to affirm that he is greater than he believes, I just think he is *both* deeply insecure and also arrogant

He's said to believe he's "one of the special people of the world," something Alex said that I do believe is seen in the text. I'm one of the people who agree he has NPD, but its important to emphasize NPD is *built* on overwhelming amounts of insecurity. It's a fluctuating mix of greatened self-importance and extreme worthlessness.

And it would make total sense if he had narcissism, considering his childhood. He was definitely emotionally neglected, the only times he was probably recognized is when he had trophies or the best grades to show for it. He, no doubt by his trophy collection, got praised a lot by administration, and he probably thought he was smarter than the other kids... but his worth was only tied to that. He wasn't worth it just for being worth it. He *had* to succeed, otherwise he is nothing, and that is what makes him deeply insecure.

When Bill tells Ford "yes you deserved that A" it works for manipulation because Ford *does* believe he deserved it. He does believe he is entitled to the best grade and he knows better than the teacher, but he needs the validation because he could never know for sure if he was the only one thinking it. And he NEEDS to know because if he's not, and theres a chance hes not right, then in his mind, he wasn't enough, and there is nothing he could do to change it. And here comes in an OMNIPITANT GOD to tell him, "Yes, Ford, you were right. Let me sooth your insecurity by affirming your greater sense of self-importance. Of course, you're smarter than that teacher."

He *is* arrogant. Because he has to be. If he's not then he's worthless.

But there's also a sense of self-importance even when he is insecure. When he is hard on himself. When the apocalypse happens, he puts the weight of it all on his shoulders like he's the sole reason for it all. He believes full-heartedly thst he is the *cause* of the apocalypse. And, no, Ford. You're not responsible for everything and anything that happens, there is a demon in the sky. The guilt he feels for mistakes, like how he probably considers himself at fault for ruining Fiddlefords life even though Fiddleford is a grown man who made his own decisions, puts a lot of importance on himself even though it's clearly an insecurity of his. He's not feeling good about himself by putting this much weight on himself, but he *is* putting that much weight on himself, which is asserting a high level of self-importance.

So yes. I believe Ford is arrogant. No I don't think that makes him evil. But I do think he's arrogant

I don't know if I'll ever see an arc done better than Parker's. Seven of Nine and Leliana come close, but no, it's Parker. Hands down. Seven and Parker share some similar archetypes tbh.

P. Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).

Fantasy AU? I have had this idea for a while where Sophie and Tara are enchantresses. Tara is a seer kind of like her character in The Future Job, and Sophie is a fairy godmother who has never bound herself to a charge because fairy godmothers are very powerful, but once you bind yourself, you have to serve that child and only that child for the rest of your days, and she doesn't like being tied down like that!

Also it's not a world that's good to magic users, because people hate what they don't understand, etc. So both women have a lot of constraints on their magic and have their magic used for royalty in power until they run away and turn to crime to live.

Anyway, in an og series s2 kind of turn of events, she ends up binding herself to Hardison, Parker, and Eliot in a move that saves the day but also is a completely new form of magic, because there's no precedent for linking yourself to 3 people instead of 1. Also they're adults so like, what does that even mean for a fairy godmother? But also, it's a third option take that does kind of save everyone. And the story goes from there.

Eliot's a mercenary for hire until he meets the team, Parker's a smuggler, and Hardison's an artificer.

Nate goes and tries to become immortal for Sophie so she doesn't have to watch him grow old, and Nate may or may not succeed. It's a good time all around.

S. Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)/T. Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? 

Tara Cole is Seven of Nine's ancestor (this is low-hanging fruit because it's the same actor)

Tara and Sophie had a mutually beneficial, sometimes physical friendly relationship until after s2. That's when they became real friends.

Parker was going through burnout at the beginning of Leverage: Redemption that was not caused by but definitely exacerbated by Nate's death. He was really important to her. Helping Sophie helped her.

OG series Sophie? Incapable of pulling off the White Rabbit. Post-s2 Redemption Sophie? Capable of pulling off the White Rabbit, but it's going to wound her in a way it doesn't Parker.

I mean I can't claim this one because so many other people have it too, but even though being a Doctor Who fan is not really Sophie's brand, she absolutely is one, and I'm pretty sure the justification for that one was "there's no way she grows up in the UK , has that appetite for story, and doesn't like the show". And I'm pretty sure this becomes a bonding thing for her and Hardison (and Parker!) later on.

Sophie has worked in a perfume shop. She was also one of those tour guides who try to get you to hire them off the street to show you around various monuments.

Sophie and Parker are very cuddly in private, and the answer for when that starts is "earlier than you think it does".

I also have Leverage rising sign headcanons and a whole novel of reasoning for why I think that is, but to be as succinct as possible:

It's a terrible idea to assign characters sun signs because the show may always give them a birthday

It's a great idea to assign characters rising signs because it's much rarer for the show to give them a birth time

In traditional astrology, the rising sign is more important anyway because it tells you which planet steers your chart or "rules" you

The original 5 are all Mercury-ruled. Mercury is the planet of tricksters and thieves. And in traditional astrology, it is the only planet that does not automatically align with day or night. It can shift, which is right on theme for bad guys who make the best good guys. Also no one's going to know what this means, but it's the only planet said to exalt itself which is also so nicely on-theme for them.

Being Mercury-ruled means you're either a Gemini or Virgo rising. I'm actually leaning towards Virgo for all 5 for specific reasons. But I also entertain Sophie and Hardison being Gemini risings, but I think it's most likely that all five are Virgo risings.

This doesn't mean that they're all the same - it just means that you'd look to everyone's individual Mercury for more information about their chart. The Mercury could be in any sign.

Rising Signs for the Others

Tara is Mars-ruled. So Scorpio (Mars rules Scorpio, traditionally) or Aries. Leaning towards Scorpio.

Finally beat everything from Pokemon scarlet and I’m hyperfixating on it haha, I’ve always loved Pokemon and I’m so glad I got to play this, the last gen I played was 7 (moon(Guzma my beloved)

There’s a lot of characters I like from this game that I’m hoping to draw (Rika, Geeta, Jacq, Hassel, Brassius, Ryme, Carmine, Drayton, Amarys, Giacomo, Eri) but I thought I’d start with one of my absolute faves Kieran! (Tied with Arven)

I really resonated with Kieran and Arven, it’s so cool to see the improvement in the storytelling/character writing with Pokemon, I hope they keep it up and keep improving too!

Semi personal rambling of why I relate to this dude under the cut

If this game had come out when I was a tween/teen I would’ve resonated even more with Kieran than I do now, since I was dealing with a lot of similar stuff at that time.

I’ve gotten to a much better place with myself and situation in the last five or so years, most of these unless otherwise said aren’t things I really struggle with anymore but I was so reminded of my younger self while playing through Kierans story

The self esteem problems and wanting to prove others wrong about what they think of me, the passive and overt bullying from others, the need of validation from others, especially those I admired/envied. Additionally the constant setbacks in life and trying to achieve my goals despite it and the envy of other people’s lives that seemed easier than mine

… also some of the obsessive tendencies just like generally, I'm extremely monotropic so its VERY difficult to get me to focus on something I'm not fixated on already, I will talk about it without even realizing and do it for days/weeks/months its still something that really effects me, I'll fixate so hard i dont sleep much for weeks and forget to eat/drink kind of levels, I've always been like this (AuDHD)(I'm working on taking breaks and self care in this regard tho)

First Post!

On this most joyus Ironheart eve, I felt the need to talk about the MCU, as I have done every day for the past 10 years. As I did, I realized that I was a little upset at how few friends I have to talk to about it anymore. As we all know, the MCU fandom space has been taken up by grifters, people who just shit on the franchise no matter what, and other assholes. It's hard to find likeminded fans who, while not shills, are down for some fun discussion of the movies, and not losing their minds over box office and wokeness and stuff.

Well, this is the place, friends! Here, we can just have a good old time hyperfixating over the MCU and just enjoying the fandom like we used to!

A couple of important (and obvious) ground rules:

NO Grifters. No racism. No sexism. No homophobia. No "woke bad" cries. None of that. The moment I see it, I block whoever's interacting. No tolerance on that matter at all.

Criticism is not hate. If you didn't like a movie, or a character, or a scene, or whatever, that's totally valid! As long as you're respectful and not over the top, I'm down to hear different opinions! Let's just try and stop with the "Marvel is killing cinema" bullshit, please.

No spoilers. Any spoilers I post here will be tagged under spoilers and remain tagged until 2 months have passed from release OR the movie/show is on digital. That only seems fair. Do please refrain from spoiler talk OR make sure to tag it or hide it properly in asks, comments, etc.

Scooper reports WILL at times be discussed, at least if they're interesting enough to talk about, but no more than that. Remember, they're grifters and engagement baiters too.

If a series or movie is loosely tied to the MCU through some sort of crossover (Fox-Verse, Sony-Verse, Spider-Verse, etc.), it will be discussed within how it relates to the MCU. This ain't a discussion board for the Spider-Verse movies, basically.

Some Cool Things I'd Like to Share

Ok so I'm kind of obsessive about continuity and reading characters with long histories "in order." This has recently manifested in me attempting to read the entire Post-Crisis history of Batman and all his little Gotham people. I specifically wanted to read it all in order of publication, not in the "timeline" order that you can find in all the reading orders online where "Year One" style comics like Matt Wagner's Mad Monk retelling or The Long Halloween will be among the first comics on the list because of how early they are in Bruce's career. Not that there's anything wrong with those lists, I'm just weird and particular. So after searching for ages to try to find this magic list that would meet all of my weird needs (and finding nothing), I decided I would make my own. So, finally, after like 10 lines of reading, here's the point of this post: a 3,000+ cell Google Spreadsheet of every single Batfamily title and notable storyline from mid-1986 to September, 2011. This took me a full week to make and I tried really hard to include everything. Every main title, mini-series, and one-shot; in order of publication. And it's color-coded. Here are the guidelines I used while making it, if anyone is still reading:

I tried to keep it fairly "arc" based, so as not to break up storylines. I didn't want a reader to have to switch to a different title every single issue.

No "major" team-ups. Basically this means, no Justice League, Young Justice, Teen Titans, etc. (with the exception of Outsiders from 2008, as it ties in to Bruce's death and all of the aftermath). World's Finest/Trinity stuff is fair game and was included though.

I am totally open to criticism/suggestions. If anyone ever sees this and then if they click the link on top of that and see something they don't like or they think should change, get in touch! I'm open to changing anything, and the majority of the list consists of comics that I haven't even read so I can't check the validity of their placement. Please tell me if you see something I screwed up.

For sure. He was definitely the type of person to have his trophies and awards and his achievements in a glass box while his son’s picture was flipped upside down on his desk.

He’s the type of guy that you call Sir more than Dad. Or Grandfather. I feel like he sticks to his work more than his family. Or at least, that is what is most likely.

He wasn’t only an engineer, he was an Inventor. He created things humanity couldn’t or perhaps wouldn’t comprehend on its own. He was a great mind, and I don’t think he would ever let that down.

Not to say genius runs in the family but I do believe their strive is a little more than simple ambition! I think it’s just learning at a young age but ALSO I believe strongly that it comes from that need, that want to connect to someone who feels distant like that.

So I think Fredrick, the prodigal son, HAD TO have given our Engie one of the most loving caring childhoods ever. I can not imagine this being anything but canon.

I think Fred was so fucking sweet. Maybe he had a tough upper lip in what he believed but I SURELY believe he meant entirely well for his son. Sure, he was a merc, with a kid on the battlefield. But I don’t think he would have ever pulled out the stops for his son.

I think he was the type of man to say you couldn’t have a cookie but slide you one under the table just for tonight. To make hot cocoa because you had a nightmare. To care.

We’ll never know how much of a massive unadulterated concentration of autism runs through these fucks but I’m sure this is a hyperfixation, bleeding into generational trauma and expectations. I have very strong feelings about the Conagher family and its works.

Also, that’s not bringing up the concept of the respawn machine in relation to the classics! Engies probably seen his father die countless times!

Don't get me wrong, Kazuha loved every aspect of you, but when you were bored, you were quite the handful. Little pranks, pokes, silly jokes... you would try everything to distract him, and that's what you wanted in that exact moment.

Calling him was an amazing option, since he was a samurai with an astounding control of all his senses, but where was the fun in that? You surely could do much better, so you got up, making as little noise as possible, and approached him with your hands shaped in claws ready to attack.

As soon as your fingertips came in contact with his ribcage, you felt something gripping your wrists and in a fraction of second, you were on the grass, facing the blue sky and a white-haired guy with an ominous smirk that you had learned to fear.

"Were you trying to wake me up, love?" He asked in a sweet tone mixed with a hint of playfulness, "Alas, your reflexes seem a little sluggish, like a lethargic bear cub." He tsked with no annoyance in his voice, just a little mocking.

"Maybe you're the one who needs a little awakening, aren't you, little cub?"

Before you could make up even the faintest argument to object, his hands started zapping your sides with ruthlessly, relentlessly and with the meticulous precision provided by the knowledge of every single spot that made you squeak, squeal or even snort.

"Ka- wahahahait nooo..!" You begged, but your pleas fell on deaf ears, as the tickle assault only increased in intensity. You attempted to swat his hands away, but that was futile as well. His reflexes were much faster than yours.

"Not good, your reflexes don't show any sign of awakening yet. Such a lazy little cub..." He joked, enjoying the blush that invaded your cheeks because of the nickname, "Do we really need to take extreme measures to make the lazy cub arise?"

Your eyes widened in shock and glee, and your laughter became much more nervous. "No no nohoho w-we dohohon't... we don't need to..! Please we do-" Not even Kazuha's refined lexicon had a term to define the high pitch of your scream, and the samurai knew this was his stop signal.

He raised his hands and helped you sit up while you were gasping for air, using his Anemo vision to create a gentle, refreshing breeze for you.

When you recovered, you looked at him with a gaze that meant war and pronounced the words: "I swear to the Seven Archons, I'll get you back."

Your warmongering glare was met with a smug, playful one. "Come at me then, cub, and show me your awakened reflexes" He chuckled, getting ready for a day full of combat.

I just saw the most amazing gifset of that moment in momento mori where chapel tells una "it's like giving birth through your mouth" (edit : it was @startrekuniverse who made the dope gif set, I love you btw)

Una and Christine are the MOST UNDERRATED dynamic. Genuinely I need to see them interact more. I've said before I don't think that T'pring is Christine's character mirror foil or whatever bc she isn't really. Una is the opposite of Christine.

Una is so put together. She is the literal poster person of first officers. She is always put together and just radiates dignity. (Somehow she gives like. Teacher vibes but I can't see her teaching a specific subject?? Maybe she just authority-s so hard I'm getting confused idk) She has been trying to be the picture perfect officer for years. She said it her self, she worries how people would see her (as an illiyern(fuck spelling I'm tired)) if she wasn't Ms. "She's beauty she's grace she's gonna punch you in the face" Because she hasn't ever had the chance to exist in starfleet without that threat of being discovered, she holds her self to this impossible standard that she some how achieves. Outside of that, she is a silly little workaholic who loves her job a little too much at times. (I mean. Tbf it's STARFLEET I'd also love it)

Compare that polished, put together-Ness of a first officer to someone who didn't even technically join starfleet, Chrsitine is part of an exchange program. (I'm only considering snw, sorry) Christine is bouncy and open as soon as we meet her, she sasses back at La'an and jokingly flirts with spock. She has the worst bedside manner and loves to chase people down hallways. Her reaction to Una bring Illiriyan was basically "I'm not a cop, I'm cool with it" She radiates weird girl in the best way possible. We see her be messy in relationships and goof off here and there. (Can you tell I hyperfixate on her all the time?) Uhura is "unburdened by conversational boundaries" and will say things on accident, Christine will say the weird thing and she will say it with her chest.

Christine is so unabashedly herself while Una is always on duty as the first officer, so professional. Una ties a lot of herself to her job and Christine loves science to the point she will chase it to other planets, she isn't tied to the ship.

There is so much space for tension and conflict between them. I can see Christine making a joke during a hard time and Una snaps. Maybe Una makes a tough call command wise that Christine disagrees with because they could've done something, the head vs the heart. They would also make an excellent team, Una with her tactical experience while Christine has science and leaps of faith.

You know those videos where the magnets are on a track and they collide really hard and the thing in the middle gets fucked up? That's what I want with them. I know im seeing the shrimp dynamics but I swear something there is worth exploring I SWEAR

Question for Anyone who might know how to explain it?

So, a friend of mine has hyperfixated hard on the Danny Phantom fandom, and one of the things she really digs is the weird inhumanity of the concept that the fandom has delved into. This is something I'm not inherently against, but the idea of 'obsessions' where you literally have to do a thing or else it causes actual physical damage to you, kind of IMO leans too hard towards the concept that the Always Wrong(tm) parents have of ghosts being mindless echos of something else, and kind of . . .Depersons them?

"This person died, but because they were just so into X they stuck around, and now their obsession is X." "Alright that sounds cool, now how would they change and grow as people?" "They wouldn't because their obsession is X and will always be X, and can never not be X otherwise it causes them actual physical pain and potentially will kill them." It also kind of ruins the whole 'self sacrificing' angle of Danny potentially giving up his dreams of being able to do anything else *but* guard Amity Park from danger. "Well if he doesn't do it anyway he's going to literally die so there's not really a choice in the matter." Not really self sacrificing when you put it that way. The other things that bug me about it, is that it seems too. . .neat and tidy? Like, we already know *fuck all* about the human brain as it is. Psychology is a shot in the dark and based around general vibes with patterns that seem to be common in humanity. Why would it suddenly become less complicated if you're dealing with emotions that are no longer tied to chemicals in the brain and are instead spread over the entirety of your being? //TANGENT WARNING// If I was the one originally putting down the concept of 'obsessions', it'd be something early ghosts, or ghosts that lack maturity/introspection/self awareness deal with because yes, in order to stick around after death you probably *would* have to have something to latch onto, at least in the moment. Younger ghosts cling to said obsession because they haven't actually self actualized, the whole I think therefore I am. There's also that whole feeling of self preservation because "this is what I held onto and what kept me going even when the rest of me didn't, so if I don't hold onto it with literally *everything* I may just die." that kind of drives them instinctually until they manage to grow beyond that. As the ghosts mature (emotionally anyway) their obsessions would be less and less important. They might still enjoy things about it, it was an obsession for a reason after all, they may even still fulfill it to some extent, but it's less a *must do* and more of an 'I like this, but it is not an all consuming need that without fulfilling I will literally die'. This would also work to explain how and why the Fentons think this is the truth without making them the worst scientists imaginable. Most ghosts that want to cause a fuss/fight/whatever are likely less self actualized/younger and therefore are more likely to cling to said obsession. A ghost mature enough to not cling to said obsession is much less likely to actually make themselves known to living people. Therefore they'd lack actual examples that could throw a wrench into their theories and force them to re-examine their research. //TANGENT OVER// but, it's entirely possible that I'm just. .. misunderstanding, or am an idiot. Hence why I'm shoving this question into a metaphorical bottle and yeeting it into the stormy seas that is the internet.

Percy Jackson Episode 4 Thoughts!!

Right. Slightly more coherent than before.

Plot:

- Very close to the book, tho I like the lean towards making the Echidna fight more suspenseful than it is in the musical or the book.

(Even if it is a shame to cut the Chimera/Chihuahua joke I think this is a great move away from undermining the tension with comedy in the way that Marvel does.

- Love the stuff with Annabeth and the cops. Her standing up to them is both poignant with current politics and does a great job to show her bravery and how out of touch with the mortal world she is, forgetting she's 12 because she's been in camp for so long.

- I'm really interested in the fact they are taking so long to set up the Grover backstory and Pan stuff. I like how much weight they are giving it.

- also congrats kids. You blew up a bus AND a train AND the gateway arch. I couldn't be prouder.

-also, (I may be wrong and correct me if I am) but I believe they changed Echidna's motivation from trying to push Percy to test his powers, to avenging some super pissed off gods. And I think that it tightens the story by doing so. It makes the gods unlikable and you can really stand and empathize with [Book spoiler] Luke's motivations.

Characterisations:

Grover:

Man are they going off with Grover. Similarly to being, cutting some of his comedy for meaningful moments is fantastic.

You really feel a depth to him which was maybe lacked in the musical and books. I adore how they are weaving in his bravery and levelhead too, it feels a tad more mature than with Percy and Annabeth and that makes absolute sense. He's done this before and boy can you feel how scared of messing up he is.

Also also. I adore how the writers have established a relationship between Grover and Annabeth as well as Grover and Percy. The books could never really elaborate on that because we have Percy's POV and so he'd miss that in places. But the show is doing great with my boi Grover!

Additionally, as an environmentalist myself, I'm happy they are weaving that in a way that feels organic. Great writing and acting choices all around especially with Aryan Simhadri who is killing it.

Annabeth:

Man does this episode sink it's teeth into her characterisation. I love how we are getting a thorough elaboration on her feelings to the Gods and Athena. And Oh boi is she the opposite to Luke. She craves her mother's admiration and... She's not seeing it. It's a great choice because it highlights how hands off the gods are and that the system NEEDS to change.

I also like how they tied that desperation for validation into her hubris. It's still pride her. But it's pride in her mother. And man, the pride with her plan feeding into her being self sacrificial reminds you so hard that they are all just kids.

Also, where would I be if I didn't mention how good the moments with Percy are. Him teasing her and getting a genuine laugh was beautiful. I love the chemistry for all of these actors.

Percy:

I love this idiot. He's so angry and scared and also funny. God, I love the nuance being brought to him. I love the genuine fear that he has facing the Chimera and being arrested by the cops. I also love how Walker Scobell sells the anger at the gods for implicating his friends in his actions to send Medusa's head. Great stuff.

Additionally, I love the moment on the bridge, this idiot (smart but brash) pulling a self sacrifice on the bridge feeds so well into his undying loyalty to a fault. Willing to trick his friends into letting him die, to save them is a very Percy thing. I also enjoy how they haven't made Percy stupid, whilst keeping Annabeth still more strategic than him, by having him basically just steal her plan.

Also the soft stuff in this episode fucking ruled. The train car joking, him cheering Annabeth up with a stupid voice. The little asides.

Overall, god I love these dumb kids. And this show has made me start rereading the books!!!! Am I hyperfixating again??! Never!!!

Ok, when it comes to romance, I have to say I both have some facts and headcanons, so to answer this I'll try and go with what I personally know so it's mostly headcanons here. ^^'

Billie: Billie is aroace, and considering she's rather neutral about her father being in love with Aristotle, chances are that they're simply not interested in romance, or flirting.

Aristotle: Based on drawings with Arthur, Aristotle was the loving, affectionate kind. He'd definitely "flirt" by giving compliments and assuring words. Oh, and he'd absolutely melt when kissed, I'm sure!

Arthur: Kinda unlike Billie, I think Arthur would be into romance, but unlike Aristotle's romantic self, he'd definitely try to impress his crush by feats of cool acts or cool outfits, making him appear kinda like a goof who's trying so hard to impress that it comes off as endearing.

Elaine: Elaine is actually in a relationship, and her plot revolves around it: if she loves you, she'll fight tooth and nail for you. I don't see her as much of a flirt, I picture her as someone who shows her love by acts of service, like being a kind eaar for your troubles, or support in your interests.

Percy: Very soft hearted and loving, Percy would absolutely be a most comforting and devoted partner. Something tells me he would be a bit shy to confess his feelings, or even flirt, but if he manages to, he'd mostly gush on everything he loves about you: he's very sweet!

Scrimshaw: Here's the thing with Scrim: he may flirt and charm people like it's nothing, but when it comes to commitment, he's a bit fickle, not one to really be tied down to a relationship. I think it'd take a while for him to actually be open to really consider you a partner. Keep trying, tho': it may happen someday! At the very least, he loves the attention.

Dutch: Dutch strikes me off as someone who's cordial, but not completely open about his real self: if he knows you, he's more willing to show his true personality, warts and soft side. He's very charismatic and knows how to charm, so I bet that, among the main cast, he'd be the biggest flirt of all, selling even the corniest of pick up lines with his southern flair.

Hayes: Poor dear would be a shy, nervous wreck around their crush, if they happened to catch feelings for someone. Usually it's not on their mind since they're very focused on their work, but when it happens, oh, it takes their whole heart, but would be shy to confess, or even flirt. They might need help from their crush to fully confess, and if that happens, oh, such a couple would be the sweetest around!

Basile: He may be gruff on the outside, but as seen with his wife Pom, you can tell he loves someone by showing his soft side, smiling and just being very sweet. Not sure if he'd be a flirt, tho'.

Barnaby: Ash said this:

So, yeah, in his own ways, Barnaby is VERY romantic: if he likes you in a romantic way, he's very affectionate. Not sure if he would flirt, but he definitely would give his partner a lot of hugs and nuzzles. whether prompted or not. And would absolutely stand close to you during any party (that he'd most likely organized to your liking). Of course, if you want full commitment, you'd have to die, but it'd be worth it to stay with him forever, right?

Fantoccio: From what I've seen Fantoccio doesn't open up easily with people, but knowing his love for theatre, I bet that if he loves you he'd flirt by doing great gestures of love, like a Shakesperean ode to your beauty and charm, or offering you your favorite flowers. He'd also be more happily willing to show his interests and hyperfixations, if he trusts that you won't make fun of him. So, yeah, it may take a while, but when it happens, he's 100% devoted.

Dimitri: Not sure how this goof would act when it comes to romance, but something tells me that he'd definitely try to flirt by coming with hyped up corny lines... only for his tail to reveal what he thinks of his crush, thus making him flail and fluster all over. Very awkward, but surprisingly endearing, in a way.

Behold! My Band Dictionary

So I uh... did something. And that something requires a bit of an explanation.

This originally started out as another research project that I did on behalf of my possible webcomic: This One Time At Band Camp. I realized while trying to find scores for a certain competition that my Michigan bands would be a part of that... well I don't actually know if I want them to be Michigan Bands anymore.

Long story short, while I'm sure many of the Michigan Bands are amazing, they got scores that wouldn't quite match my own marching band experience, something I really want to be a big part of this webcomic. And while I could just keep my bands in Michigan and just have them be wildly different, I'm not sure that would be very realistic. And for privacy reasons (and because I think I would frustrate myself with all the inaccuracies I would have to make), I'm not going to put my bands in the area where I live.

The reason why I decided Michigan a little while back was from a source that I now realize is not that accurate. It's just like this public google doc of the top 100 bands from like 2005 made by some random dude. I dunno. I didn't think it mattered much... it did

So I then decided to make my own list of the top 100 bands but this time of the most recent data from boa regionals, super regionals, and grand nationals. I would do this by gathering all the scores from said regionals (duh), finding the averages for every bands (because plenty bands compete in more than one boa competition), and finding the top 100 highest averages.

It wasn't hard to gather all the scores from all the competitions. It was a bit of a long process, but I knew I would be strapped in for a couple hours.

Those couple hours turned into a couple days.

The especially long part was when I was deciding how I wanted to get the averages. This is where the Band Dictionary comes in. I decided to organize all the bands by alphabetical order. At first glance --- based on how I organized it --- it didn't look like it would take very long.

There were 345 bands that competed in at least one boa competition.

There are many letters of the alphabet.

There are many bands that start with each and ever letter excluding like half of the goth letters. I do not have an expansive knowledge of how google sheets works and this probably took a lot longer than it needed to. But it took 6 hours to alphabetize every band ever.

And then I had to go back and do it all over again (kinda). You see this is when I had the bright thought of sharing this creation of the band dictionary with all of you. Because some of you are as autistic about marching band as I am, and I just created something that you don't have to suffer through like I did.

Which meant I had to go back and list the state every single band is from for convenience. I don't even want to KNOW how long that took me.

Finally, I was able to get to the fun part of ranking the top 100. There are some ties, but that's okay.

So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at it. It took technically 2 years because I started it 2 days before new years and even if you don't consider that 2 year project it still took me a couple days with me doing this for most of every day I did it. Okay I hyperfixated and now I feel like that was a bit too much work for a webcomic. And in all honesty I think it could be quite interesting for fellow band kids.

So go ahead and search your band up on the dictionary. If you don't see it, that's probably because it's not on there-- but I would LOVE for it to be. All of these bands competed in some sort of boa program, so if your band does not compete in boa it's probably not on there. So if you want a band on there, just comment, reblog, or even drop by my ask box with the name of said band a link to where I can find a score from a competition.

And again, since these are just boa scores, many of these bands only competed in a regional (or some are daring and just competed in a super regional or grand nats). That means that not all the averages are accurate for the information I have. If you want the scores to be more accurate, once again just pop by somewhere and tell me the band and a link to a website where I can find scores. I would love for this to as accurate of a resource as possible.

And if you find any other inaccuracy or wanna make a suggestion, please politely and respectfully let me know. I will be much more willing to feedback if you don't suck. Honestly, I am the type of person to just flat out refuse to listen to you if you aren't being a decent human being (unless your inaccuracy or suggestion is so profound I must forgo the fact that you are an asshole and incorporate it anyway, so by all means try your luck of being mean to me).
